Google Admin app for Android updated w/ full mobile device management features

Mobile first is a frequent buzz phrase for newly minted startups and for the most part it is easy for them to achieve. However, for legacy companies with products designed for the web, it is often harder to cram functionality and information on a smaller screen. With that in mind, the Google for Work Admin app for Android has been updated with mobile device management features previously restricted to the full web app.

LG reportedly planning to ditch the V series’ second screen with the V30 [Updated]

LG’s V series — including last year’s V10 and the recently-launched V20 — is known for many things, but perhaps the most notable is its secondary display. Amazon’s Fire OS updated to Nougat with introduction of version 6

Amazon’s Fire OS, which runs on all of its Fire tablets and Fire streaming sticks/boxes, is finally getting an upgrade to 7.1.2 Nougat. While this forked version of Android is a pretty big step up from Fire OS 5 (which is based on Lollipop or Marshmallow depending on the device), unfortunately, version 6 won’t be rolling out to many devices…

Samsung patent hints at updated Gear VR headset with position tracking and eye tracking

Even though Google’s new Daydream VR platform has impressed us, there’s still no doubt that Samsung’s Gear VR headset is one of the best on the market today, even if it only works with Samsung’s devices. However, it still faces many of the same issues that all other mobile VR platforms face, most notably the lack of position & facial tracking. However, now it seems that Samsung is working on adding that functionality to an updated version of its headset.

Essential Phone camera updated w/ stability fixes and 60FPS monochrome video mode

Andy Rubin’s Essential produced an incredible piece of hardware in the Essential Phone, but its camera was a deal-breaker for many. Now, following some major price cuts, Essential is still working to make that camera better, and that’s reflected in the latest update.
