Android Nougat and EMUI 5.0 rolling out to all Honor 6X owners starting today

Honor debuted its mid-range 6X back at CES 2017, and while it’s a pretty good smartphone overall, it shipped with one mind-boggling issue — it came out of the box with Marshmallow and Huawei’s terrible EMUI 4. The company said that it would be updated “soon,” and today, it’s finally living up to that promise, albeit a bit late.

Essential Phone: Customer shipments are now starting to arrive

Starting a new company from the ground up is anything but easy, and Andy Rubin has quickly been learning that with Essential. A recent customer service error revealed personal customer info to other buyers, Verizon compatibility is still shaky, and the dual-cameras leave a lot to be desired. Hands on: TP-Link smart home products will work with Google Home starting in Q2 [Video] (Updated)

Update 1/9: TP-Link has reached out to clarify that Google Home integration is expected in Q2 of 2017, not February.


Google Home’s portfolio of supported products has slowly been growing since its release, but several major players still aren’t supported. That’s soon to change, though, with the addition of Actions on Google.
