The Samsung Galaxy S8’s bezel-less display could be called ‘Infinity Display’

We’re looking forward to the full debut of the Samsung Galaxy S8 later this month, but ahead of that reveal, we’re still getting plenty of new information about the device. As we’ve seen in multiple leaks, and as Samsung has basically confirmed itself, the Galaxy S8 is going to come with a nearly bezel-less display. Apparently, that display will be marketed as “Infinity Display.”

Galaxy S8’s Bixby button can be remapped to Google Assistant (or anything else) with an app

One of Samsung’s big software points on the Galaxy S8 is Bixby, the company’s new AI assistant. Samsung is going so all in on this assistant that it added a dedicated button for it on the side. However, since this is Android, some people would prefer to use Google Assistant/Now for this button. Now, thanks to a clever developer, that is possible…

Samsung says the Galaxy S8’s ‘red tint’ issue is not a defect, simply the nature of AMOLED

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are easily two of the best phones you can buy today, if not the best. However, since their debut, many customers have been running into issues with a “red tint” on the display. Now, Samsung has come out with another statement to say that this issue is not a defect…

Samsung is fixing some of the Galaxy S8’s lag issues with a launcher update

I love the hardware of the S8, the display on the S8, and even the software on the S8, but there’s one thing that makes me cringe every time I pick it up — the performance. Despite packing some of the best specs on the market today, the Galaxy S8 has some serious lag issues. Thankfully, Samsung is at least doing something to remedy this problem.

The Galaxy S8’s iris scanner can be ‘hacked’ using a contact and an IR image

To protect them, companies like Samsung offer biometric security features like iris scanning to unlock phones. While it might seem secure, a hacker just proved how easy it is to bypass Samsung’s iris scanner…

The idea of powering your workstation with your smartphone is something that feels like it was ripped out of a TV show, but with our powerful smartphones today, it’s something that is very much achievable.

With the launch of its latest flagship, the Galaxy S8, Samsung stressed the phone’s ability to dock to a monitor and display a full desktop environment powered by the phone. Now Samsung is finally advertising the feature, and I still can’t stop thinking about how much better this would be as a laptop.

Here’s how to install Bixby and the Galaxy S8’s new launcher on other Samsung devices

One of the big highlights on the Galaxy S8 is Samsung’s new digital assistant, Bixby. Samsung has a lot in store for it, but so far, we’ve only seen the basics debut. Now, some clever users over on XDA have pulled not only Bixby, but also Samsung’s new launcher from the Galaxy S8 to install on other Samsung smartphones.

You can change the Galaxy S8’s navigation buttons to the standard Google layout

The Galaxy S8’s Infinity Display is nothing short of impressive, but it wasn’t without some compromise, at least, if you view physical buttons as a good thing. To achieve it, Samsung had to ditch its signature button in favor of on-screen navigation, but it kept the same layout, which I dislike. Thankfully, you can change it to Google’s standard layout.

Samsung’s next smartphone, the Galaxy S8, has been the hot topic of the rumor mill for the past several weeks as we approach its debut. There are a lot of things that are unclear about the device. One thing that seems pretty definite, though, is that Samsung isn’t slouching on the design of this device as it prepares to launch a phone with nearly non-existent bezels, shown in the panels below.
