The Google Pixel 2 has nearly twice as many volume steps for more precise control

Audio performance is a bit of a mixed bag on the Pixel 2. We now have front-facing speakers, but there’s no headphone jack. Quietly, though, Google also brought along another small audio feature. In short, Pixel 2 owners will have much more precise control over volume levels compared to just about every other Android phone.

Hands-on with the best skins for the Google Pixel XL [Gallery]

Google’s Pixel XL is a wonderful phone, and it’s been my daily driver for the past few months. The hardware on this phone is excellent, but whether it’s for added protection or a better look, most of us will add a case to the phone. There is an alternative, however, a skin.

There are several fantastic skin makers on the market today, but which makes the best skin for the Pixel XL? Over the past few weeks, that’s what I’ve been aiming to figure out. Google offers developers 25% off Pixel C tablet to build split screen apps – 32GB: $375, 64GB: $449

Update 3/14: The discount is now available to those in the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

Update: As of Wednesday afternoon, Google has started emailing the redemption codes. They must be redeemed by July 15th. The 25% discount also applies to the 32GB model.

To coincide with the release of the Android N Developer Preview, Google is offering developers a hefty 25% discount on the 64GB Pixel C. This 0 price cut brings the device down to a much more reasonable 0.

Always On Ambient Display for Google Pixel hinted at in Android O Developer Preview

The Google Pixel and Pixel XL do not take full advantage of their AMOLED panels. While there is an Ambient Display, other devices like the LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8 have long offered always on modes. Fortunately, Google appears to be working on such a feature for the Pixel according to code in the Android O Developer Preview.

Google said to unveil Pixel phones alongside 4K Chromecast, Google Home, & Daydream VR viewer on Oct. 4

PSA: Daydream View promos code are now going out for Pixel pre-orders

When the Pixel and Pixel XL first became available for pre-order, Google let U.S. customers know that they would also be eligible for a Daydream View VR headset free of charge. Now that most of those Pixel pre-orders have made their ways to customers, Google has started sending out promo codes to those customers.
