Late-stage Google Capital growth fund renamed CapitalG, reveals investment in Snap Inc

While GV — formerly Google Ventures — is Alphabet’s more well-known venture capital arm, the parent company also runs a fund aimed at late-stage growth companies. Google Capital is now being renamed as CapitalG, with the new site revealing a previously unknown investment in the makers of Snapchat.

Google’s largest ever crisis fund raising $4 million for immigration-related organizations

Google is forming its largest ever crisis fund to deal with the ongoing impact of Friday’s immigration order that restricts entrance into the United States. In a memo (obtained by USA Today), CEO Sundar Pichai detailed the company’s million donation to four organizations, as well as an employee matching program.

Report: Ex-CEO of Google Ventures Bill Maris is raising money for his own VC fund

We told you last month that Bill Maris, the founder and now ex-CEO of Google Ventures, had left the firm and its parent company, Alphabet. Now, a report from CNBC says that he is raising money for his own venture capital fund:
