Samsung’s latest 10.1-inch tablet includes all the S Pen features found in the Note 7

Samsung’s various tablets are usually quite indistinguishable hardware-wise and the general state of Android on larger screens continues to be lacking. The one interesting thing about the just launched Galaxy Tab A (2016) with S Pen (via SamMobile) is that its 10.1-inch display supports all the stylus features found in the Note 7.

Do you like the look of the new multitasking menu found on the Pixel C? [Poll]

Today Google pushed out the second public beta of Android 7.1.2 to Nexus and Pixel devices. For the most part, this update brought with it performance improvements, but the Pixel C got a refreshed look and feel as well as the addition of a new grid-style multitasking menu. Samsung responds to reports of Galaxy S7 fires, no internal problems found

At the start of November, over 85% of Samsung’s Note 7 recall was complete, but the company’s troubles aren’t over just yet. Over the past couple of weeks, multiple Galaxy S7 users have reported device’s catching fire, appearing — at least on the surface — to be similar to the Note 7’s issues.

Faster mobile data likely as 5GHz LTE found to play nicely with WiFi, FCC approves LTE-U

More areas of the country are likely to see gigabit LTE, say carriers, as the FCC has approved the use of the 5GHz spectrum for mobile data.

The 5GHz band is currently used for WiFi, and there had been concerns that there would be conflicts between the two, but the FCC accepted that equipment manufacturers had demonstrated that LTE and WiFi could co-exist in the same spectrum …

Evidence of offline ‘OK, Google,’ other features found in Google app version 4.8

The Google app — previously known as “Search” — was updated to version 4.8 last week, and now a new teardown has revealed some interesting new details about some features that might be coming in future versions.
