Opinion: There are lots of great Android phones coming this fall, but I’m most excited about V30

Things are about to get exciting in the mobile landscape with just every Android OEM, as usual, prepping to release more new flagship smartphones. In the crowd there’s Google, Samsung, LG, Andy Rubin’s Essential, Huawei, Moto, and others prepping new releases. It goes without saying that there’s a lot to look forward to, but there is one I didn’t expect to be so excited about: the LG V30.

Samsung Gear S3 reportedly coming this fall, with luxury de Grisogono version to follow

Albeit still not as popular as smartphones, smartwatches are indeed making their way to the market as gadgets with ever increased functionalities — like the recently announced CoWatch and its Amazon Alexa integration — but at the same time trying to appeal to classic timepiece customers as well.

Samsung is an OEM trying to please both audiences: according to The Korea Herald, Swiss watchmaker de Grisogono has confirmed to be working with the consumer electronics giant again in order to bring to the market a luxury version of the yet-to-be-announced Gear S3, supposedly coming next March…

Pokémon Go launches in Canada, servers fall over as a result

Good news for Pokémon Go fans in Canada: the game has officially rolled out to the country. Bad news for fans of the game everywhere: the extra load seems to have killed the servers again.

Niantic made the Canadian announcement on Twitter and on the game’s official Facebook page, but so far the company hasn’t responded to complaints that users are again unable to login. It did acknowledge the server problems experienced over the weekend …

Michael Kors announces line of Android Wear devices starting at $395, available this fall

Michael Kors is the latest traditional watchmaker making an Android Wear device. Currently, the Michael Kors Access line features two watches, with more devices in different styles coming this fall. The fashion brand is aiming for the higher end market with watches starting at 5.

Android adopting regular maintenance schedule, first Nougat release w/ dev preview this fall

Android 7.0 is rolling out today to current Nexus devices, Pixel C, and General Mobile 4G. While the majority of Nougat’s 250 new features have been well documented, Google also announced today that Android is moving to a “new regular maintenance schedule.”
