The Nvidia Shield TV is an awesome streaming box for entertainment, but it’s arguably better used for gaming. Between Android games and GeForce Now, the Shield is a great platform for gamers. In China, though, the Shield is getting even better with a selection of Nintendo titles.

Gboard 6.4 beta expands Incognito mode beyond Android O, brings minor visual redesigns

Google expands Material Design with new suite of design and prototyping tools

Material Design was announced in 2014 as a cohesive design language for both first and third party web and mobile apps. Google is now expanding Material to be a “system that supports the principles of good design and strengthens communication and productivity” with a new suite of tools and open source projects (via The Verge).

Google Maps traffic alerts feature expands, now available in India

Google announced in a blog post this morning that it has expanded its the popular Google Maps traffic alerts feature to India. This means that any smartphone user based in India will get real-time notifications during navigation if traffic conditions change for the worse, and before a journey is set to begin, so that they can choose the quickest route more easily.

CyanogenMod 14.1 based on Android 7.1 expands to 9 more devices including the Nexus 6, 7, and OnePlus One

Android 7.1 Nougat is slowly making its way to more devices after debuting on the Pixel smartphones. A developer preview is currently available for many Nexus users, and earlier this month, CyanogenMod announced a new version of its ROM based on Google’s latest OS for a handful of devices.
