PSA: Daydream View promos code are now going out for Pixel pre-orders

When the Pixel and Pixel XL first became available for pre-order, Google let U.S. customers know that they would also be eligible for a Daydream View VR headset free of charge. Now that most of those Pixel pre-orders have made their ways to customers, Google has started sending out promo codes to those customers.

Huawei announces support for Daydream, Google’s new platform for VR on Android

At Google I/O‘s keynote yesterday, one of the highlights of the final unveiling of Android N was all about Virtual Reality. While no “Android VR” headset was announced, the search giant introduced Daydream, a VR platform that will be available within Android N.

According to Clay Bavor, which debuted Daydream on stage, as many as eight big-name partners are already onboard: Samsung, HTC, LG, Xiaomi, ZTE, Asus, Alcatel and Huawei, and today, the latter OEM is giving us some more information about its integration with Google’s VR vision…

Samsung’s next Gear VR headset might include a wireless controller like Google’s Daydream View

Samsung helped usher in the premium mobile VR experience a couple of years ago with the debut of the Gear VR headset. In the time since, that headset has evolved slightly to offer better viewing angles, improved comfort, and of course, to accommodate new devices from the company. As we approach the release of the Galaxy S8, it seems like Samsung is getting ready to bring a new headset to the table, this time with a dedicated controller.

Daydream View shipping Nov. 10 in 5 countries, available from Google Store and other retailers

Teased back at I/O 2016 and officially announced at the 10/4 event, Daydream View from Google is finally going on sale next week on November 10th. The launch will not be limited to the US, with the VR headset also available in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Australia.
