Samsung reported to launch Bixby-powered AirPods competitor alongside Galaxy Note 8

Since the announcement of Bixby at Samsung’s Galaxy S8 event in February, critics and consumers alike have had mixed feelings about the company’s new AI. There are some things that Bixby is good at, and then there are other areas where the assistant falls completely flat.

Bixby is made up of many different layers, but one of its most important is its voice component. Samsung just recently rolled out Bixby Voice features on the Galaxy S8/S8+ in the US following a delay, and according to a new report from ET News, Samsung is now supposedly working on Bixby-powered Bluetooth earbuds that won’t be all that different from Apple’s AirPods.

Samsung reportedly gearing up to launch wireless earbuds alongside the Galaxy S8, likely an AirPods competitor

There have been a lot of rumors and reports flying around the release of Samsung’s next flagship, the Galaxy S8. We’ve heard it’ll ditch hardware navigation keys, pack a massive display on one variant, and sadly, drop the headphone jack. ‘Ghostbusters: Slime City’ mobile game coming alongside new movie, first screenshots & trailer [Video]

The new Ghostbusters movie reboot is set for release in theatres this July, and alongside the film Activision and Sony announced today they will release Ghostbusters: Slime City for mobile devices, including Android. The companies just sent over a first look at the game including a trailer with brief gameplay shots and some screenshots below.

The storyline in the game will take place after the events that unfold in the new movie, and the characters will not be clones of the film’s cast but rather a new selection of heroes. The new Ghostbusters movie is a reboot of the original film and features an all female cast in the main roles, including: Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones.

Support for US Cellular officially available on Project Fi today alongside app update

After announcing the addition early this month, Google has finally enabled support for US Cellular’s network starting today for all users. To “ensure your device is ready to connect,” Google says you should download an update the Project Fi app which is currently rolling out via Google Play.

Android Mobile Vision restored alongside new Text API in Google Play Services 9.2

Announced last August, the Mobile Vision API allows app developers to detect faces in images and video. The API was briefly removed, however, and today it makes a return as part of Google Play Services 9.2. A new Text API has also been added and will give developers access to optical character recognition.
