Google Allo passes 10 million installs after 12 weeks on the Play Store

Google Allo passed 1 million downloads just a few days after its launch, on September 24th. It then passed 5 million downloads only four days later, on September 28th. Now, almost 3 months since that landmark, Allo has passed 10 million installs on the Google Play Store. This means that, in the last 11 weeks, Allo has amassed the same number of new installs as it did in its first week.

Early builds of Allo and Duo just leaked, but neither of them work [Gallery]

Google announced two messaging apps today: Allo and Duo. The first is a new messaging platform that emphasizes expression, security, and the inclusion of Google Assistant. The second app is a take on video messaging, focusing on one thing and one thing only: a reliable 1-to-1 video calling experience.

While Google said that both of these apps would be available sometime this summer, early internal builds have already leaked. Don’t get too excited, though — neither of them work… more…

Google Allo 19 adds ‘In Apps’ search integration, prepares camera effects, Firefox web support, more [APK Teardown]

The latest version of Google Allo rolled out over the weekend and shows the messaging service preparing a number of new features, including camera effects and sticker search on the web. Version 19 also integrates Allo with the Google app’s In Apps search feature.

Allo 5.0 rolling out w/ Chrome Custom Tabs, selfie-generated sticker packs on the way [APK Teardown]

With every Allo update has come features that almost no one is asking for, and the latest version of the app, 5.0, isn’t much exception. Google Allo 9.0 suggests its desktop chat client will work just like WhatsApp
