Google Translate adds Tap to Translate chathead on Android, iOS gains offline mode

Google Translate is getting a bevy of new features today that will make translating on mobile easier. Android gets a new feature that will get rid of the need to manually copy and paste into the Translate app, while iOS finally gets an offline mode. Additionally, the Word Lens instant visual translation feature now works on both Simplified and Traditional Chinese.

Chrome 56 adds native support for playing FLAC audio in the browser

Chrome 56 is currently in the beta channel and should hit stable in about a week. When released, it will bring support for the FLAC audio codec directly in the browser. This will provide a quick way to play those files, with the Mac being the biggest platform to benefit due to a lack of native support.

Google Wifi adds ‘Scheduled Pause’ to halt internet connectivity for certain devices

Google Wifi is now the latest product from the company that includes a feature to control and temporary pause usage. While Family Link disables a managed device, ‘Scheduled Pause’ can be used to just halt the Wi-Fi for certain devices with a fine amount of granularity.
